Cheshire fitness expert launches the Original Mobile Gym Company

A Cheshire-based personal trainer is bringing his unique gym to people’s homes and businesses.

Over more than 30 years, Matt Heath has trained everyone from beginners to elite amateur and professional athletes, written a book, given talks and appeared on radio shows.

Now, in his boldest venture yet, Matt is rolling out the Original Mobile Gym Company or OMG for short.

Matt has created a bespoke mobile studio gym, fully air conditioned and with an array of state-of-the-art fitness equipment to meet the needs of any client.

Matt, who is based in Chester and lives in Wirral, said: “The creation of this company comes after more than three decades working in the personal training industry but is the first time I have had the funds to put into this project.

“This has been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember, but funding it has always eluded me. Selling a house has afforded the funding of this project, so this is literally putting my money where my mouth is.”

Matt, originally from New Zealand and with a BSc (Hons) Sports Science, has developed an alternative and sustainable approach to reducing body fat that has worked successfully with people across all age ranges and physical ability.

Matt said: “I have moved beyond the calorie which really does not work. If it did work, would we be facing such an epidemic of weight gain in so many countries?

“At the heart of our approach is the ‘Lean for Life’ philosophy, a proven method that focuses on sustainable, long-term results, not quick fixes or fad diets. We move beyond counting calories, instead teaching our clients how to understand the chemicals in food and their impact on the body.

“By identifying which foods contribute to our ever-expanding waistlines and learning the optimal timing for meals, we empower our clients to achieve and maintain a lean physique.

“I focus on resistance training with my clients because muscles are the only part of our bodies that use body fat as the energy reserve it is, so the more efficient we make our muscles, the more we can utilise the energy from body fat more often, helping us stay leaner.”

Matt seeks to bring a holistic approach to all his clients, looking at every aspect of training and lifestyle to improve their life as a whole.

He said: “This often includes helping them become leaner, stronger, more flexible, more nutritionally aware, often improving posture and reducing lower back issues along the way.”

Matt is excited about the scope that his new business offers, adding: “Finally I can work for myself and not pay rent to a gym, I can train clients anywhere they want, and present to businesses, social media, and at public talks as Matt Heath of the Original Mobile Gym Company.

“Firstly, I want to create a business using three decades of knowledge to help more people be lean for life along with other peripheral benefits we can achieve along the way that are personal to them.

“I’m also hoping to go beyond this and reach other personal trainers who would like to be more mobile and dynamic in their approach and access to clients.

“Once I have proven the model myself, I see no reason why I could not train other personal trainers in this system, potentially offering them a franchise so they can enjoy more freedom from renting space at a gym to build their own successful enterprise.”
