A Chester businesswoman is helping to transform the lives of men looking for aesthetic treatments to boost their confidence.
Charlene Baker is a permanent make-up artist with over 20 years of experience in the beauty industry.
In her new clinic in the village of Farndon in Cheshire she offers both traditional and the latest innovative techniques for eyebrows, eyeliner, lip colour, along with advanced skin treatments and a brand new body sculpting service not only for women but for a growing number of men.
Her work to boost the self-esteem of men who are losing their hair is attracting particular attention.
Charlene, who lives in Chester with her husband James and their two teenage children, and trained with Finishing Touches, said: “I’m seeing an increasing number of men asking for scalp micropigmentation which creates the illusion of fuller hair.
“The treatment involves tattooing tiny, layered dots in different shades to replicate the look of hair follicles and a shadow on a person’s scalp. Over the course of the treatment, it’s possible to create natural looking depth and definition.
“It’s unbelievable what this treatment can do for a person’s self-confidence.
“As well as scalp micropigmentation I’m also seeing an increase in the number of men asking for jaw sculpting procedures, facials and skin peels.
“The male aesthetics market has really been growing in recent years and, although women still represent the larger share and love trends such as lip blushing which is hugely popular, men in Cheshire are becoming much more proactive in taking care of their appearance.”
